Virtual Reality As An Approach For Digital Heritage of Pathok Negoro Mosques In Yogyakarta

Historical buildings in Yogyakarta needs to be maintained. These buildings were Pathok Negoro Mosques. Pathok Negoro Mosques had an important role in the spatial strategy of the Yogyakarta Sultanate empire. Moreover, the age of these buildings reaches hundreds of years. It is necessary to maintain the sustainability of the buildings. For instance, implementing Virtual Reality technology is an achievable step to maintain the tangible and intangible of the buildings. Virtual reality technology was used for documenting, learning, and disseminating tangible and intangible features of built heritage. Field observation also a measurement for data collection from Pathok Negoro Mosques was done periodically. The 3D recreation of masjid Pathok Negoro Yogyakarta was done using a game engine to create a Virtual Reality environment.
